UC‑II® – natural type II collagen

OVERVIEW
This product combines natural biologically active collagen with frankincense extract,
with calcium fructoborate and nutrients derived from the eggshell membrane.
*Collagen- is the most important structural protein of articular cartilage. Diseases such as arthrosis,
rheumatoid arthritis and gout, as well as obesity and sports injuries or accidents can
cause persistent joint inflammation with increased collagen breakdown. Inflammation or
in the case of wear-related cartilage breakdown in the joint, it is classified as released
collagen fragments by the immune system as foreign bodies and it attacks them. Pro Flex natural
UC-II® collagen inhibits this immune response through the development of “oral tolerance”. It works
similar to hyposensitization in case of allergy: regular small amounts of collagen
by taking it, the immune system learns to tolerate the supposed antigen and stops its protective measures. Inflammation
subsides and the joint tissue can regenerate.
*Boswellic acids from Indian frankincense- Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) resin is used
traditionally to relieve joint pain. It has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects
now proven by research. Frankincense is mainly responsible for the positive effect
specific boswellic acids found only in this plant. Pro Flex Frankincense Extract is
standardized to contain 65 percent boswellic acid.
