Pro Base supports the natural acid-base balance with a balanced combination of potassium, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. The high pH level causes strong polar activity, ensuring rapid absorption and gentle regulation of the acid-base balance. Through food, we ingest nutrients that, in metabolism, form either acids or bases. Due to the Western diet, more acids than bases are typically produced, which can throw the body’s acid-base balance out of equilibrium. Especially grain products, animal-based foods, and even plant proteins can acidify our bodies over time. In addition, an unhealthy lifestyle — such as excessive consumption of coffee, alcohol, nicotine, or soft drinks — can also contribute to acidification.
Minerals are basic and have a positive effect on our bodies; for example, magnesium supports electrolyte balance, and zinc helps maintain normal acid-base balance. However, if there is an insufficient intake of minerals and continuous acid load, minerals may begin to leach from the bones. The body’s primary goal is to keep the vital blood pH level stable. Over time, this may lead to mineral deficiencies.
Pro Base combines minerals — potassium, calcium, and magnesium — in special carbonate compounds with zinc to create a high basic pH and restore a healthy acid-base balance. When the body has been acidified for a long time, it cannot detoxify efficiently. If the buffering capacity is exhausted and the blood pH shifts towards acidity, nutrient and oxygen transport, as well as enzyme activity, become impaired. The acids formed daily eventually accumulate in the body as “slags,” mainly in connective tissue.
