Description
A good source of Omega-3 fatty acids: High-concentration Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. provide essential fatty acids in their natural triglyceride form. The patented antioxidant protection (Qualitysilver®)* with vitamin E and rosemary extract protects the sensitive fatty acids from oxidation. Omega-3 fatty acids support brain and eye function, promote heart health, and may reduce silent inflammation in the body. The microalgae Schizochytrium sp. is a marine microalga, which, due to its high lipid production, especially polyunsaturated fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), is an excellent source of fatty acids for the human body. It is abundant in its natural habitat in the sea – mainly in coastal areas and plankton-rich regions. For use in supplements, it is cultivated and fermented in suitable facilities on land.
Especially for vegans and vegetarians who do not wish to obtain valuable Omega-3 fatty acids from food or fish oil, the fatty acids derived from the microalga Schizochytrium sp. are an excellent choice. The DHA and EPA fatty acids, with a daily intake of 250 mg, help maintain healthy heart function. Additionally, 250 mg of DHA per day helps support healthy brain and eye function. This makes Omega-3 fatty acids – in the appropriate dosage – particularly important for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Non-vegan products containing essential Omega-3 fatty acids in supplements typically come from fish oils. For vegans and vegetarians, our Pro Omega Vegan does not use the fish food chain, which originally consumes Omega-3 rich phytoplankton (various algae), but we obtain valuable fatty acids sustainably and directly from algae. It is cultivated in France, in on-land facilities specifically for this purpose, and is monitored for pollutants and contaminants.
Our Pro Omega Vegan capsules also offer a convenient alternative to liquid fish oil products when traveling, as they do not need to be refrigerated. However, we recommend a daily dose of at least 1,800 mg of EPA and DHA, which corresponds to five capsules. Short-term maintenance of Omega-3 levels, such as during vacation, can still be sufficiently achieved by taking three capsules a day during this period. The capsules themselves are made from tapioca starch, which is known to many health-conscious individuals. Additionally, they do not contain carrageenan.
