Description

Pro Ferra Ferment supports iron replenishment. The product is made from the koji mushroom Aspergillus oryzae, from which iron sulfate has been fermented, and the product also contains vitamin C, which promotes iron absorption, and selected B vitamins. Each capsule contains 21 mg of iron. The iron in Tisso’s product comes from a unique, patented fermentation of the koji fungus Aspergillus oryzae.

Iron is an important trace element that belongs to the group of minerals without which we cannot exist. It participates in various processes in the body. Its main functions are to contribute to the transport of oxygen throughout the body and energy metabolism. Iron cannot be produced by the body itself, so it depends on whether we absorb it through food. Although there are basically many different iron-containing foods on our plates, iron deficiency and the corresponding symptoms of iron deficiency occur more often in women and other risk groups.

In order to prevent or eliminate iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia, you should check your iron needs and diet. In addition, it may make sense to take a combination of iron preparations that contain, for example, vitamin C to improve iron absorption and vitamin B2, which contributes to healthy iron metabolism.

Safe and without side effects
Fermenting rice with Aspergillus fungi (koji fermentation) has a centuries-long tradition in Asia and especially Japan, and is the basis for making soy sauces, miso or sake, among other things. Aspergillus oryzae carries the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) GRAS certification (GRAS = Generally Regarded as Safe) and is therefore classified as harmless. Our Koji-fermented iron has been shown in applied studies to be completely safe and without side effects, even when used for long periods and in high doses 1,2 .

Iron is essential for blood formation, oxygen transport and energy supply to cells. Therefore, deficiency makes people pale, tired and lethargic. Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in the world. Mostly women get sick, but also vegetarians and vegans. In women, the reason is menstruation and pregnancy, while in the case of a meat-free diet, the low bioavailability of plant-based iron. Because too much iron can be harmful, high-dose supplements should only be taken if a deficiency has been diagnosed. On the other hand, the increased need can be met with a much lower dosage supplement like our Pro Ferra Ferment.

Anyone who has ever had to use extra iron knows this: common preparations with ferrous sulfate and other divalent iron salts (Fe 2+ ) often hit the stomach and intestines. They quickly release the trace element into the body – which makes them very effective on the one hand, but on the other hand irritates the mucous membrane of the digestive tract. Plant iron is better tolerated but poorly absorbed because it is predominantly in the trivalent form (Fe 3+ ) and strongly bound.

Precious mold makes this possible: our iron comes from a unique proprietary fermentation with the koji fungus Aspergillus oryzae. During this process, the rice and mushroom starter culture is enriched with divalent iron sulfate, which the fungus stores in its cells during further fermentation. Iron introduced in this way is apparently released in the body much more slowly and therefore more gently than isolated ferrous sulfate, which is often used in cases of iron deficiency 1 . Nevertheless, it reaches the blood in the same high concentration and thus offers a naturally derived alternative to plant sources of iron, which are also well tolerated but have low bioavailability.

The rapid release and absorption of normal iron can exceed the binding capacity of the iron transport protein transferrin, especially at high doses. The result is excess free iron in the blood, which promotes the formation of oxygen radicals. The uniform and slow absorption of Tisso Fermented Iron effectively prevents such excessive iron absorption.

Ingredients:

Aspergillus oryzae culture (inactivated) enriched with ferrous sulfate (42.2%); Vitamin C (sodium L-ascorbate) (20.5%); glazing agent: pullulan (capsule shell size 0); bulking agent: microcrystalline cellulose; vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5′-phosphate) (0.4%); vitamin B2 (riboflavin) (0.3%); vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin on mannitol); folic acid/folate ((6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, glucosamine salt).

RECOMMENDED DAILY DOSAGE

Please take 1 capsule daily with sufficient liquid. It is best to take it on an empty stomach or at least 1 hour before or after a meal. Do not exceed the indicated recommended daily amount.
